While continuing with their pioneering trans-continental recording techniques, their first concept album also marks a period of transition in recording technology for Lüt, utilizing 1/4″ tape, mini-disc, DAT, & hard-drive. Love Songs… serves as a catharsis for the trio, something that can be seen and heard in the new forthright compositions. Lars returns fully to the fold & Chas retires from the “college bar scene.” In addition to his usual band chores, Neil, using his brass alto saxophone, blows alongside local trumpet legend, Easy Slipper, on one track. Also making a guest appearance on the album: Basil Rice, viola.
