In the first of a continuing series of pre-lüt demos and rarities, entitled “Lüt Origins” , we present a soaring chas & lars cover of the king of pop’s “Billie Jean”. A fan favorite for nearly 20 years, this was recorded on the tascam 4 track with what is now thought to be an old kmart microphone. Recorded one night near Johnny The Jack’s Photo Express, the acapella stylings of the band are showcased in an early harbinger of things to come.

You guys are very talented. Too bad you guys missed hooking up on Spinal Tap’s last tour…Unwigged and Unplugged Tour in 2009. It was an amazing show. I like the direction you guys are heading, between the guitar sounds of Grateful Dead(JM the F) to sounds of The Cure( Little J Dunnhom). The country/blue/classic rock/acid jazz/new wave sound is amazing. Your biggest fan in Florida. Rock it!!! Lates, Matt
